TSD College Football Top 10 WEEK 13

I'm back! You know you missed me. I had a great time with the family watching the big upset! Sorry Chicks In The Huddle. Now all my friends keep reminding me how close Ohio State came to making it to the national championship in 1998 but came up short. They of course could be one loss by Missouri or West Virginia away from making it to the national championship game. I'm not going to get my hopes up. To me, they are on their way to the Rose Bowl. If something happens ahead of them, great. If not, still great. They haven't been to the Rose Bowl in over a decade. Ok, enough of that. Here is this weeks Top 10!

1.  Missouri
2.  West Virginia
3.  Ohio State
4.  LSU
5.  Kansas
6.  Georgia
7.  Virginia Tech
8.  USC
9.  Oklahoma
10. Hawaii

1.  LSU
2.  Kansas
3.  Missouri
4.  West Virginia
5.  Ohio State
6.  Arizona State
7.  Georgia
8.  Virginia Tech
9.  Oregon
10.  USC

TSD College Football Top 10 Week 11

The show must go on. If I'm going to write about sports, I'm going to have to keep my feelings in check.

There is a new number 1 team in college football and well let's just get this over with.

1.  LSU
2.  Oregon
3.  Kansas
4.  Oklahoma
5.  Missouri
6.  West Virginia
7.  Ohio State
8.  Arizona State
9.  Georgia
10. Virginia Tech

I will say this. If Kansas keeps winning, they will be my number 1 team. And if Kansas ends up beating Missouri and then Oklahoma in the Big 12 Championship game and they end up missing out of the National Championship game, there will be something wrong with the human voters. No I will not blame the computers because the computers make up 1/3 of the BCS vote. So voters, please stop looking at Kansas as just a basketball school right now. They seem to play football too and are winning at it.

TSD College Football Top 10 Week 10

September is for pretenders. November is for contenders.

We've all heard that before and the first weekend in November gave it to us. Here is the TSD college football top 10. Here is last weeks list if you would like to see the changes. There are some changes.

1.  Ohio State (10-0)
2.  LSU (8-1)
3.  Oregon (8-1)
4.  Kansas (9-0)
5.  Oklahoma (8-1)
6.  Missouri (8-1)
7.  West Virginia (7-1)
8.  UCONN (8-1)
9.  Arizona State (8-1)
10. Boston College (8-1)

Yes I have Kansas at #4 and if they keep winning who knows. They are in one of the big six conferences and if they remain undefeated, get to the Big 12 championship game and win, shouldn't they get a shot at the national championship game?

The Ohio State Buckeyes are still my #1 team. They just have to win out. Beat Illinois next week and then that team up north the week after. Whoever wins that game wins the Big 10. Go Bucks!

No. 2 and 3 could be flipped. LSU is a good football team. Oregon is a good football team. Left on LSU's schedule is La Tech, Ole Miss (on the road), Arkansas, and then the SEC championship game. Left for Oregon is Arizona (on the road), UCLA (on the road), and The Civil War vs. Oregon State.

There is still a lot of football to be played before we determine who plays for the national championship. Keep watching.

TSD College Football Top 10 Week 9

Oh what fun Saturday was. The Ohio State Buckeyes dominated the Penn State Nittany Lions. Georgia let Florida know that The World's Largest Cocktail Party is truly a rivalry. Arizona State rallied against Cal to remain undefeated. Oregon got a big win against USC.

Here is the TSD top 10. The top 3 remain the same but one team on the list is removed from last week's list.

1.  Ohio State
2.  Boston College
3.  LSU
4.  Arizona State
5.  Oklahoma
6.  Oregon
7.  Kansas
8.  Missouri
9.  West Virginia
10. UCONN (Yes that's right. The Huskies are in my top 10.)

Of course I could have put Georgia or Hawaii or even Michigan at 10. But I'm giving it up to the UCONN Huskies. They won against the USF Bulls and are vying for becoming the Big East champion.

TSD College Football Top 10 Week 8

I took a week off from this for some reason. Not sure what I was doing but let us get down to it. It's not easy to make a top 10. Especially when some teams are on a bye week. Just wanted to point that out.

1. Ohio State. The defense gave up 3 points to Michigan State. The offense gave up 14. Hopefully they got there turnovers out of the way before they reach Happy Valley. It will be a white out for sure next week. Go Bucks!

2. Boston College. USF goes down and BC gets a week off. What happens? They move to #2. Next up for them? @ Virginia Tech. Can Heisman trophy contender Matt Ryan help BC come out of that unscathed?

3. LSU. Crazy play calling in the end of that game against Auburn. Going for the TD when the clock was dwindling? Luckily they got it and won 30-24. If not, everyone would be wondering what Les Miles was thinking.

4. Oklahoma. Hard to put them here but this is where they are. They had an ugly win against Iowa State. Yes that's Iowa State with a 1-7 record on the year. But this is the year of the upset. Oklahoma finally learned how to escape one.

5. Arizona State. If it wasn't for the bye week, they might be #4. If they can get a win against Cal this week, they will be moving up in my book. Why is everyone forgetting about them?

6. Kansas. Yes you read that right. They leave the state of Kansas for the first time this year and get a win. I know, they only beat Colorado. But Oklahoma didn't. Let's not try to connect the dots though. Kansas is 7-0 and 3-0 in the conference.

7. Oregon. They scored 54 points yesterday and rushed for 465 yards in a win at Washington. The thing that I didn't like though is that they let Washington score 34. But being that the score was tied at 31 by the end of the 3rd quarter and the defense stepped up in the 4th, I guess I can let that slide. Their only loss was to Cal at home by 7. Next up for them is USC at home.

8. Missouri. They bounce back from their lost to Oklahoma and win against Texas Tech 41-10. This game was supposed to be a shoot-out. Not so much. Who knew that the game on November 24th against Kansas could determine the champion of the Big 12 North?

9. VA. Tech. A bye week this week (I'm beginning to dislike those) but this Thursday they face Boston College. The Hokies only loss was against LSU, yes it was lopsided but they are now 6-1. Thursday night could be a the first match-up against these two teams this year. They could meet again in the ACC championship.

10. West Virginia. They are creeping back in. Yes they lost to USF but they put that in the past. They had a convincing win against Mississippi State winning 38-13. Next up for the Mountaineers is an away game against Rutgers, who are coming off of an emotional win against then the BCS #2 USF. Everyone is chasing UCONN for the Big East title. Both of these teams need to win to stay in the hunt.

Another Shocking Saturday!

Unless you were on the West Coast or knew that the game was televised on Versus (they are replaying it Monday at 4 PM), you probably missed what people are calling the greatest upset in college football history. Yes, I did say that people are calling Stanford's upset of USC the greatest. USC was ranked #1 in the Coaches poll and #2 in the AP. They were at home with a 35-game winning streak in the Coliseum. They were a 41 point favorite. 41 points! Oh, and this was the Stanford QB's, Tavita Pritchard, first career start. He threw the winning TD to Mark Bradford on 4th and goal with 49 seconds left. How special was that catch for Mark Bradford? He dedicated the win to his father who died of a heart-attack a few weeks ago. A very special catch for him. The final score was 24-23.

Some people are saying that USC still has a chance for the national championship. They say that since they lost to another PAC-10 team, they still have a shot. But if they could barely get by Washington and then get beat at home by Stanford, they should not be mentioned in the national championship talk. But that's just my opinion.

The polls should be coming out sometime today. Starting today, I've decided to give you the TSD Top 10 in College Football.

1. LSU

2. California

3. Ohio State

4. Boston College

5. South Florida

6. Oklahoma

7. South Carolina

8. Oregon

9. Missouri

10. Cincinnati

Other teams getting notice: Illinois, West Virginia, VA Tech, and Kansas.
