A Conversation With Dustin Brown

TSD Magazine's 1st contributor is Sheila from Black Tennis Pro's. THE place where you can get the current events, match facts and latest info on the Black professionals in the game of tennis. A great read I might add. Sheila was gracious enough to share her interview with tennis player/model Dustin Brown. Enjoy!

Pewter Report Owner on Don'tDateHimGirl.com

I don't usually read Don'tDateHimGirl.com. I promise I don't. Okay, just occasionally. But I would at least never post someone on there. Sometimes I go on there to see if any of my guy friends are on it so that I could at least warn them. I typed in buckeye fan as a keyword and I did not find any of my friends but I did find Hugh McArthur.

Hugh McArthur (a Bucs not Buckeye fan) is a managing director at Bain and Company and said to own the Tampa Bay Bucs fan magazine the Pewter Report. He is also said to have cheated on his 1st wife with his 2nd and has not stopped there. The author of this post also goes on to say that he may in fact be "getting friendly" with some of the cheerleaders. Oh my. Click here to read the post.

The author seems a bit pissed off and I understand that every girl has at least one ex-boyfriend that they would love to post on this site. I know I do. But I just could not do that. I'm not judging the girl who added Hugh to Don't Hate Him Girl (this spot on this website would be empty if she hadn't) but just wonder if she could have gone about it a different way. And I ask you if you have ever or think you could ever add someone to Don'tDateHimGirl.com?

N-I-T! N-I-T! N-I-T!

I've never really gotten into the NIT in the past. I think that might change this year. If you don't know, the NIT is the National Invitation Tournament a.k.a the Not In Tournament Tournament. The selection is made on March 16th this year; the same day as the NCAA Tournament. The tournament begins March 18th. You can get your brackets here.

That's about all I have to say about the Ohio State men's basketball game yesterday. I love them and always will but DAMN! Can you please give me one quality win? And Syracuse don't count. Florida don't count. Those teams are looking for their own quality wins to get into the tourney. And PLEASE stop shooting the 3 every chance you get. Pass the ball, penetrate, and just stop choking!

Oh and good luck tomorrow against the Hoosiers. GO BUCKS!

Get That Money Girl?

I'm reading MediaTakeout.com and they posted a RUMOR that Lebron and his girlfriend Savannah are expecting their 3rd child.  And then I get to the comment section and the first comment is:

"keep pumping them out.....get that money girl"

So apparently this commenter thinks that Savannah is just with Lebron because of his money. I've decided to be naive and believe that she is not with him for the riches. I've decided to believe that she is with him because she loves him. She was his high school sweetheart. Of course there are women out there who would love to attach themselves to professional athletes by having their little love child. But like I said, I've decided to believe that Savannah is not one of them.

Boobie Gibson in Elle Girl

The Cleveland Cavaliers should make Tees for girls that say Boobie on the front. I'd where it. He's one of the only things I like about Cleveland. And it seems Elle Girl likes him too. Daniel "Boobie" Gibson was one of their biggest crushes of 2007. Congrats Boobie!

NBA Roundup: Last night's happenings

Cleveland Cavaliers 90 - Washington Wizards 89. Billy Thomas and Kaniel Dickens, from the NBA-DL called their mommas yesterday because they were playing in an NBA game. They signed a 10-day contract with the Cavaliers since Cleveland only had 6 players able to play and you need to have at least 8. Ben Wallace, Wally Szczerbiak, Joe Smith and Delonte West are still waiting to be cleared to play. It didn't matter though. With Lebron James' 33 points and 2 clutch free throws with 7.8 seconds left, they got past the injury prone Wizards. Oh and Damon Jones had a season-high 27 points. Making his case for a starting job?

Phoenix Suns 85 - Boston Celtics 77. In Shaq's 2nd appearance with the Suns, he played 26 minutes had 4 points, 14 rebounds, an assist and 2 blocked shots. It wasn't more of the points he attributed but of his presence. And it showed by helping to free up Amare Stoudemire with his 28 points and 3 blocked shots. Steve Nash and Grant Hill weren't pansies either with 18 and 14 points respectively.

NY Knicks 103 - Toronto Raptors 99. I didn't watch this game but whenever the Knicks win I feel as if it should be mentioned since it seems to be a rare occasion. Jamal Crawford scored a season-high 43 points as the Knicks get their 17th win of the season. Not the worst record obviously with Miami at 9 and Minnesota at 11 wins on the season but not acceptable either. Me being tired of the Knicks losing and being an Ohio State Buckeyes fan, here's rooting for Isaiah Thomas to become the next Indiana basketball coach.

Other scores:

  • Sacramento 116 - Charlotte 115 OT
  • Orlando 115 - Philadelphia 99
  • Indiana 113 - New Jersey 103
  • Dallas 98 - Memphis 83
  • Houston 100 - New Orleans 80
  • Detroit 127 - Milwaukee 100
  • Chicago 135 - Denver 121
  • Atlanta 117 - Golden State 110
  • Seattle 99 - Portland 87
  • LA Clippers 114 - Utah 104

My Reasons To Heart College Basketball Right Now

I haven't spoken that much about college basketball. Part of it is because BTN and Time Warner seem to hate me and another is because of American Idol. That last one was a joke. I just turned it on but had to change it back to UNC @ NC State. What is the point of American Idol when all you need to do now is have a MYSPACE page?

But being that it is February, you have to pay attention to college basketball. At least I have to. When a team like my favorite Ohio State is sitting at 17-9, it begins to get like college football; Every Game Matters! And since March is around the corner, lets get mad people. I scheduled my vacation this year, like last year, around the first weekend of the tournament. I can't wait to fill out the brackets. I can't wait to wake up and watch basketball all day. I'm smiling just thinking about it.

This Saturday the feature game on ESPN will be Memphis vs. Tennessee. #1 vs. #2. I will be rooting for the Vols. Sorry Memphis but I'm still not over Joey Dorsey calling Greg Oden overrated in the Elite 8 last year. How many points did he have? Oh that's right, zero. I know I need to get over that but not right now.

On Sunday the game is Ohio State vs. Wisconsin. I'm on pins and needles here. MUST WIN! A message to Evan Turner, David Lighty, Othello Hunter, Kosta Koufus, Matt Terwilliger, Jon Diebler, Dallas Lauderdale, Eric Wallace, and the rest: Do Your Job Please. Let Jamar get some rest. Please? Thank you.
