Want To Hang Out With Kirk Herbstreit?

I seem to be discussing Kirk lately. I hope he doesn't mind. Anyway, if you aren't doing anything on February 23rd and will be in the Columbus, Ohio area, you can hang out with Kirk at the Central Ohio Home and Garden Show. He will be there greeting guests, signing autographs, and of course taking pics. Oh and if you want you can take seminars on gardening, decorating, and home improvement. And it's just $10 to attend. Things like this are reason why Kirk should not move out of Columbus, Ohio (still not knowing where he may move to). People outside of Columbus most likely wouldn't go and see him at a home and garden show.

Thursday News Roundup

Hello everyone! The weekend is almost here. YAY! Now let's get to reading. Don't forget to send tips to tsdmagazine@gmail.com.

Marion Berry (from the house of representatives) says no to LSU. I'm sure she bust out her Razorbacks jersey and started singing the fight song too. (Eleven Warriors)

The Cincinnati Reds may move their spring training site from Sarasota, FL to Goodyear, AZ. Fans are upset because they won't be able to go to the beach. (Journal News)

NY Giants pick Gisele over Jessica. (NY Daily News)

Jordan Palmer gets to play with bubby. Ahhhhhh. (Dayton Daily News)

Derek Anderson doesn't seem to be happy about the contract offer he received from the Brownies. Guess he figures since he also has no playoff wins, he should get a contract like Romo. (Plain Dealer)

Ex-Bengal pleads not guilty for grand theft because of a bad check. (Dayton Daily News)

Jessica and Tony ARE Together

key_club_2_wenn1739622Girlsgonesports.com answered my question. Thank you girls. Again I don't know why I care. The only thing that I actually care about Jessica Simpson are the bags that she carries and the shoes that she wears (I love them). And Tony Romo has nothing to do with Super Bowl week. I should not care about them. We should not care about them. But for some reason finding out that they are still together, brings a little closure. I know, I'll get a life soon.

Odell Thurman Making A Comeback

The Dayton Daily News lets us know that Odell Thurman, the suspended Cincinnati Bengals linebacker, has been allowed to practice and train with the team. He has not been reinstated yet but is pursuing reinstatement. My favorite thing about this story is not that Chris Henry's partner in crime could make a comeback but the comments given by the readers of DDN when they were asked if he should be allowed to return.

hell yeah let him back -Nate

Are you kidding with this question. He should have been able to conme back last year. I personally think the COMMISH really had it in for us last year. Just wait until a really high profile player from a big market team gets into trouble. The punishments will be a lot smaller you’ll see. -Jerry

Well let’s see: Tank Johnson had enough guns to arm a small South American army and he was re-instated. Ricky’s been on the spliff train for years and he was allowed back in so yeah, Odell deserves the go ahead too. Let’s face it, our “D” really hasn’t been the same since the one year he played. I hope he goes from zero to hero again this year. We need him in case you naysayers haven’t noticed how lousy our defense has been lately. Especially, if Zimmer installs the 3-4. -ShockMonkey

Your hero’s aren’t statesmen, leaders, and people who find cures for cancer/various diseases, captains of industry, inventors, peacemakers (when they can), or theologians who preach finding peace with God…your hero’s are overpaid low intelligence trash that occasionally abuse any thing they can. You then let them off because somebody else did it and they got away with it? Ethics, values, integrity, truth, mean nothing to a person who catches a ball, it’s always someone else’s fault. Play ball! -Paul

Ricky Williams was able to come back, michael vick may come back and PATRIOTS CHEATED!!!! Thurman should be able to come back -Tiffany

You get the gist. Fans believe that since other players have done certain things they shouldn't and still got to play then why can't their guy get a second chance. Well, except for Paul. To read more comments click here. They're funny.

Sunday News Roundup 1.27.08

Hey Kirk, Where We Moving To?

Herbstreitkirk

You have to love living in Columbus, Ohio sometimes. No it's not NY or LA but you still hear things. Apparently Kirk Herbstreit's home is on the market. I heard this through a friend who lives in Upper Arlington where Kirk also lives. Not sure exactly if he's moving outside of Columbus or just getting a bigger house than the current rumored $3-4 million home he has now. He did say how much he loved Eugene, Oregon on College Game Day but of course he could have been sucking up to the locals. Who knows. You can read about his current home here. When I find more info on this I will let you know.

Chad Johnson Is A (Fill In The Blank)

MiamiSportsBlog.com saw the above mentioned at the Heat vs. Spurs game last night. (I feel like I've been talking about the Heat lately). Apparently he was being a little (fill in the blank) and getting upset that kids were asking for his autograph. PLEASE! They were kids, Chad. Do yourself a favor and get out your Sharpie. Do not make me drive down (greyhound) I-71 south and find you. I got people (my uncle) who know where you frequent (some jazz bar my uncle has gone too. Actually I think he said that he doesn't see him there anymore). Anyway, just sign the damn autographs. They are fans! It's part of your job whether you like it or not. Don't want to sign autographs? Don't go to a sports function where you will find other sports fans.

Hey Big Spender!

We are not going to say that Shaquille O'Neal's spending ways are crazy. I mean he only spends $875,015 a month. Paris probably spends that much and people don't care that much. Oh wait...they do. Anyway, here's a little tidbit on what he spends his money on.

$156,116 in mortgages on three homes (including his $20 million mansion on Miami Beach's Star Island), plus $31,299 in homeowners insurance; $3,345 in phone bills; $1,610 in lawn and pool maintenance; $12,775 for food; $10,065 in electricity, $1,495 for cable TV; $5,000 in car payments (for three cars - he owns at least twice as many); $24,300 in gas; $6,730 in dry cleaning; $17,220 in clothing; $2,305 for pets and $110,505 for vacations...(PalmBeachPost)

He also pays $26,500 in child care, $10,000 in child support, and $10,000 in alimony. All of this is coming out because of the divorce that he is going through. It makes me wonder. Yes he is hurt right now and yes he is getting older but maybe this divorce is hurting his play? And don't we all remember those rumors about D-Wade and his wife?

Did Romo Dump Simpson?

50202846---jessica_Simpson

I googled Tony Romo and Jessica Simpson and there are a lot of speculations that they broke up. Or that Tony dumped Jessica. Then I read that Jessica is suing OK! Magazine for saying that Tony dumped her. Do we know what's true? Do we care? Should I shut up about this and continue to watch the Miami Heat lose yet again.

Seriously they had the lead and end up losing to the San Antonio Spurs 90-89 . Will the Heat win in 2008? Maybe this question is more important.

Daily News Roundup 1/24/08

Stephen A. Smith has a blog and let the trashing begin. (Juiced Sports Blog)

Terrelle Pryor driving a Corvette? Are those cars still even in style? (Eleven Warrior)

Ravens linebacker coach is now the Bengals linebacker coach. Good hire? Give me more Marvin Lewis. Give me more! (Journal News)

Media banned from the rotunda at the Garden. Writers get in scuffle with security. I wonder if that's ever happened at Nationwide? (NY Post)

Xavier said it and now the rest of the A-10 repeats it. We ain't mid-major beeotches! (Dayton Daily News)
